CARNEGIE MELLON RACING LIVERY 2024 & 2025
Group Project
Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Physical Vinyl Application
The livery design, also known as the external vinyl, for Carnegie Mellon Racing’s electric race car and driverless race car for the year 2024-2025.
The livery serves as a visual representation of our organization at competition, making it a critical part of my work as design captain in CMR.
PROCESS & DEVELOPMENT: For the 2024-2025 racing season, our team chose the theme Heritage for the years livery and merch theme.
For us, Heritage implied a classic, vintage design system, with an emphasis on bold color and simple shapes and patterns. For our design team, we decided to bring in historical elements of Carnegie Mellon’s racing team, such as the tartan print and “shark eye” car element for our 25e car.
2024 CMR LIVERY: 24e For 24e, our 2023-2024 electric race car, I played a large role in the design of the nose cone. The nose cone refers to the front portion of the car attached to the main body. I designed the nose cone to resemble a solar flare, which led to the two toned sharp design of the final nose cone design.
