Carnegie Mellon Racing Livery

2025
Group Project
Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Physical Vinyl Application
The livery design, also known as external vinyl, for Carnegie Mellon Racing’s electric race car and driverless race car for the year 2024-2025.

The livery serves as a visual representation of our organization at competition, making it a critical part of my work as design captain in CMR.

PROCESS & DEVELOPMENT:
For the 2024-2025 racing season, our team chose the theme Heritage for the years livery and merch theme. For us, Heritage implied a classic, vintage design system, with an emphasis on bold color and simple shapes and patterns. For our design team, we decided to bring in historical elements of Carnegie Mellon’s racing team, such as the tartan print and “shark eye” car element for our 25e car.

After many rounds of ideation, a preliminary design review and critical design review, our designs were finalized and livery application began. The process of designing livery for 25e was an incredible experience, involving a deel level of team work within our team and with the entire organization as a whole to ensure that everyone felt represented through our 2025 design.
